Said the kid has to earn it tho...

Yes, as he should. But who's his competition for the starting 3? Lance Thomas? Troy Williams? One of whom will be starting at the 4, if the roster stays as is.

Fiz already said THJr and Courtney Lee are too small for the 3, so he gets it. Dotson I see as a back up 2guard/back up small ball 3. So starting 3/4 is an open position, if Knox is unable to beat out either Thomas or Troy Will for a starting forward spot that'd be a little concerning :francis:

A fun 30 win Knick team :dwillhuh: :wow:

Watch them push it to 35 off will:birdman:

And a new, more forgiving lottery :ehh:

Let's not press our luck fellas :whoa:

I'd honestly be surprised if we won more than 25 games next season. Gotta remember, late seasons wins and all Knicks were a bottom 5 team after KP went down. As long as the young'uns are getting the bulk of the mins next season Im fine with that :yeshrug:

Yeah, without KP it's probably best if we gun for a top five pick because the playoffs are highly unlikely. But as long as the young guys are showing promise, it's a win-win. Typically a team this young and missing it's star player is supposed to be bottom five so anything above that probably means that the youth is developing ahead of schedule and Fiz is coaching them up. So either the youth is ahead of schedule or we're adding a top 5 pick to our team. Either way when the season is over we should be looking at a franchise player returning; another year of development for our lottery picks; and cap space to be near or at a max contract offer.

On the low I was preaching this for the Melo deal..... but I thought we could get a pick for him to add to this and I didn't expect KP to have to have a major injury for them to build around him........

But it's for the best, the Celtics and Philly are beast teams. Only way NY gets in that conversation is we execute the 2019 rebuild and be patient for one more year.

:dame:I hear brehs talking about 2019...

:ohhh: What’s supposed to happen exactly in 2019?

Basketball gods bless us with a top three pick, KP gets back to 100%, younger players show signs of progress, Knicks make no ill-advised win-now moves. Fizdale implements his system and principles, and more cap space freed up heading into free agency with Kanter, Baker, and Thomas coming off the books. A new culture and identity under Perry and Mills. That's what I'm hoping for.

Kyrie will be a FA as well, maybe some other big names too.

Fiz said in an interview that he specifically hired coaches that specialized in development. He’s saying and doing all the right things.
