I find it hilarious that all of the last year's worth of rumors and "absolutes" about the best players coming to the New York Knicks have become eclipsed by this past week's updated on Kyrie liking BK, Durant not giving any indication that rumors should be followed and Kemba Walker seemingly hinting NY is not a possible destination.

Wow.

If there is any franchise that should have fans that are strategic about their public hopes and wishes...it's Knicks Fans.

Not because we don't deserve it - we DO deserve success.

It's because of the unreasonable hate by the rest of the league's fans and the fact that we've been the punchline year after year.

To be so loud about Durant, Kyrie and Zion for the whole year knowing how much luck comes into the overall equation... :what:

Breh we should be allowed to discuss the possibilities. It’s nof our fault the media hates the Knicks

People in here actually saying don’t sign Durant but sign D’angelo Russel :what:

This is why Dolan is allowed to get away with bullsh1t all these years we have a dumb fanbase

I think the sentiment is, if we can't get KD, then go young, and Dlo is young.

Though Dlo is definitely high on my list of players who will probably end up overpaid. If the plan is to do a youth movement. I rather they pay him and then move DSJ to get another asset.

On the flip we could just use that cap space to take young talent, and picks and help teams out as long as they pay. Philly did that, and to a degree so did the Nyets.

The problem is for example what happens when you take a contract like Allen Crabbe's and then you need to move it for a better player and you have to give up assets as well. Oh Wait never mind, I forgot the Nyets took Crabbe's contract for free cause they thought he was worth it.

I believe that KD is either staying with the Warriors or coming to the Knicks. He's not going to Nets and he's not going to the Clippers.

Other NBA fans and even some Knicks fans have said "Why would KD come to the Knicks when he's on team that he can win numerous rings with?"

It's simple, KD is at the point in his career where he has accomplished practically everything you can as an NBA player: NBA champion (2x), Finals MVP (2x), NBA MVP, NBA All-Star (10x), NBA Rookie of the Year, Olympic Gold Medalist (2x), All-NBA First Team (6x), All-NBA Second Team (3x), NBA Scoring Champion (4x), 50-40-90 Club member.

I believe that KD is now thinking about his legacy beyond basketball. He has already left his mark as a BASKETBALL player but now he's thinking about expanding his legacy beyond basketball and how can you do that? Come to New York City and play at MSG with Knicks and potentially lead the Knicks to their first title in almost 50 years.

In 2010, the Knicks front office in their pitch to LeBron told him that by joining the Knicks, they would make him a BILLIONAIRE. However, LeBron at stage of his career was just entering his prime and in case many people forgot, many people were starting to say that LeBron "would never win a NBA title". LeBron was thinking about achieving his dream of being an NBA champion and he chose to team up with some of his best friends (Wade & Bosh) in Miami to achieve that goal over becoming a BILLIONAIRE BRAND in New York. However, in 2018, after he had achieved all that he could as a basketball player, he went to Los Angeles to build his brand (in the entertainment business) and potentially become a billionaire.

With KD, he will become a God/Legend in New York FOREVER, if he (and another superstar player) is able to lead the Knicks to a title. He'll achieve basketball immortality. In the Bay Area, he doesn't get that recognition because when people think of the Warriors, they will always think of Steph Curry first and foremost. Also, the amount of endorsement deals and money he could make while playing for the Knicks would be insane. He could build an EMPIRE here in New York.

Now, I'm not saying that Kevin Durant is coming to the Knicks, but I don't believe that all the rumors that we've been hearing for the past year is all just BS. I do believe that he's seriously thinking about coming to New York and playing for the Knicks (not the Nets). However, there's certainly no guarantee that he's going to leave the Warriors.

I'm skeptical.

Now if we strikeout on every big free agent, the fans will laugh at the knicks fan base. Like we started these rumors. It’s the media that keeps attaching our name to the free agents.

All I’m worried about is RJ, Knox, Mitch, DSJ continuing their development next season. Everything else will be just extra.
