Pretty cool article talks about free agents we may go after

Offseason Outlook: New York Knicks

Players still under contract with the team
PG: Dennis Smith Jr. / Frank Ntilikina
SG: Damyean Dotson(Non-Guaranteed) / Allonzo Trier(Team Option)
SF: Kevin Knox / Lance Thomas(Non-Guaranteed)
PF: Henry Ellenson(Non-Guaranteed)
C: Mitchell Robinson

Assuming Lance Thomas and Henry Ellenson are not retained(very likely) the Knicks still have some room to add a few interesting players to supplement Kyrie and KD’s talents. I’ll list a few at each position that I can see them going after.

PG: Rajon Rondo, Cory Joseph, Ish Smith, TJ McConnell Longshot: Ricky Rubio
SG: Rodney Hood, Justin Holliday, Terrence Ross Longshot: Tyreke Evans
SF: Jeff Green, Danuel House, Trevor Ariza Longshot: Harrison Barnes
PF: Ed Davis, Mike Scott, Noah Vonleh Longshot: Marcus Morris
C: Kyle O’Quinn, Thomas Bryant, Aron Baynes Longshot: DeAndre Jordan

PG: Kyrie Irving / Dennis Smith Jr., Frank Ntilikina
SG: Damyean Dotson / Allonzo Trier
SF: Kevin Durant / RJ Barrett
PF: Marcus Morris / Kevin Knox
C: Mitchell Robinson / Kyle O’Quinn

Dotson will play PG, RJ will be SG, Knox at SF. I think that extra cap space will be used on a PF or we'll use Lance.

Breh that lineup would be really nice. Real gritty..... I would be ok even with the lesser twin Markieff cause in a lot of ways just the work ethic to improve is all that separates him from Marcus

DSJ can defend though especially on ball. Off ball he’ll catch up.

You call Frank swing passing and sitting in the corner facilitating? :mjlol: what a fukking joke.

Dot showed nice development this season, do we automatically start RJ over him out the gate? :jbhmm:

It probably depends on the circumstances. I could see there being benefits to making RJ 6th man and the primary bench scorer while Dot slides into the perimeter starting trio of Kyrie/Dot/KD. You'd give RJ time working with the two top dogs but also free him up to attack. Anything that's not win-now though, let RJ take his lumps like Knox did and just be patient about his decision making like we have to be with Knox.

This is all I'm saying...

Dot, Trier, guaranteed max contracts >>> Frank nikkalini

Yep, it's pretty much this simple for me. If we have to move someone for cap space to ensure two max cats, Frank makes the most sense. If we don't have a need for the cap space because the cap comes in at a slightly higher projection, then I'd keep Frank and give him another year to either increase his value or show he's worth keeping. Right now, you'd be selling low and we're gonna be capped out anyway. Might as well keep the 20 year old that's cheap and use him as a specialist while you see if he can get the jumper going in that case.

Heads gotta stop letting non-Knicks fans troll 'em into the Frank debate. If you really need to say something, just neg 'em.
