NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
There not comparable but Currensy birthed these dudes styles frfr.....it’s damn near a whole lane/platform he opened for these nikkas
Curren$y opened a lane for ALOT of people. From Big KRIT, to Wiz Khalifa, to Mac Miller, Playboi Carti. The list goes on. Spitta is one of the people responsible for changing the whole underground scene. Not even just in sound. Just the way people move thru that scene in general. Doing a bunch of one producer projects with a different producer for each project. Like Monsta Beatz on one project. Ski Beatz for the next. Alchemist(whom tested his new sound on Spitta for Covert Coup). So that project along with Roc Marci’s Marcberg and Reloaded basically changed everything. That’s also the project that got Freddie Gibbs more visibility and working with them type of producers as well. Such as Alchemist and Madlib etc etc. And the list goes on.

Currensy better lyrically but Larry got more showmanship. Larry be saying shyt too tho.

What they got in common tho is they both make regular shyt sound spectacular.

:russ: Larry really be rapping about putting avacados in his smoothies, folding clothes, credit scores, and riding bikes but that shyt sound cold ass hell.
I don’t get what the bolded means.

i'm so proud of how much people fukk with Larry now.

I remember I posted one of his tapes in like 2018.. that shyt got like 6 replies
in the thread someone said that they wished they had it on an actual cd so they could throw it out their car window

:russ:

Larry June is a throwback to old bay area music. If you not from cali or never tapped in to the bay I can see how people can think hes wack.

LOL I was gonna mention Wiz, I vividly remember when they linked up too and the change in style was so visible...in defense they are legit close homies and wiz was a young nikka plus the benefit was mutual....

But Spitta verse on Drop Coupe :whoo:

nikkas blow up in the game, off styles that I crafted
But never will admit it if somebody was to ask 'em
From the rhyme patterns to the fashion
Sacrificial Lamb 'em, in the Lamborghini mashin', paper tagging
Roll the fatties way bigger than the last one
Face, but never pass 'em
Critics said that I wouldn't make it, then I made an ass of them
For the crew I alley-oop and toss it off the glass for them
Set it up easy dog, homie get your Shaq on then

Charisma. Larry has a very charismatic style to his music, that can make regular shyt he be saying sound cold as hell (even with his monotone voice). Not saying Curren$y doesn’t have it, Larry June just has more.

I may be biased, but Bay Area brehs/brehettes usually have a charm to them that wins over people, especially when you’re out of town visiting another state
