nikka, who cares how many people he's bringing to the arena? You really acting like his fights are above promotion?:gucci:

He has a fight Saturday, they're tryna to promote it. It's why this claim is being made days before as opposed to a few months from now when there's no slated fight around the corner. Stop being dense.

Do you follow boxing and know who Joshua is?:dahell:

I have to question you after that statement...he's basically the Floyd Mayweather of the UK. He'll sell out a stadium fighting even you:what:

They aren't "promoting" anything....the fight nearly sold out in seconds when it went on sale. Already 70,000+ tickets were sold back in September when they went on sale.....and he was facing a nobody.

Anthony Joshua looks set to sell out a second stadium in successive fights after more than 70,000 fans snapped up tickets for his world title defence against Kubrat Pulev.

Joshua will defend his IBF and WBA heayweight titles against the Bulgarian at Cardiff's Principality stadium.

And tickets have sold like hot cakes, despite VIP briefs going for £1,500.

Promoter Eddie Hearn said: “It was another incredible day at the box office for Anthony Joshua as he continues to cement his place as the biggest draw in world boxing.

“The support he receives from the British public is incredible and has been an integral part of his success. The fans will be in for a great night on October 28 and we thank them all for their support.”

:mjlol: at Anthony Joshua needing help from Larry Holmes saying he'd KO Tyson to help promote this fight......to UK fans:dead:

By Saturday night, Anthony Joshua will have drawn nearly 170,000 fans to his last two fights combined.

That’s a staggering figure, particularly when you consider that before Joshua knocked out Wladimir Klitschko his fights took place at arenas in London and Manchester that hold roughly 20,000 fans for boxing.

Roughly 90,000 fans attended Joshua’s epic comeback victory over Klitschko at London’s Wembley Stadium on April 29. More than 75,000 are expected to pack Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday night, when England’s Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) will make a mandatory defense of his IBF heavyweight title against Cameroon’s Carlos Takam (35-3-1, 27 KOs).

Eddie Hearn, whose company promotes Joshua, believes these two crowds mean Great Britain’s biggest boxing star can’t go back to fighting at arenas when he boxes in the United Kingdom.

“That shows the scale of AJ’s appeal,” Hearn told London’s Daily Mirror. “The O2 has been brilliant for us, our home. But AJ is too big now for a 20,000-seat arena.”

He's basically the Floyd Mayweather of the UK when it comes to selling tickets. :dead: at needing Larry Holmes for additional promotion:heh:

Nope, Holmes believes Joshua would KO Tyson, because Tyson is too small, suspect chin, and defense wasn't the greatest. Let him give his opinion without you blaming Joshua's fight for his opinion. Remember, he did face Tyson, so he knows.:hubie:

@BlackManLiveFromLondon yall need help from :flabbynsick: to garner awareness of Joshua's fight in 3 days brehs?:ohhh::heh:

The same Floyd that just used a fabricated race angle to promote his fight?:usure:

Boxing matches get promoted, don't know why you're acting dumb about this, but I no longer care.:hubie:

Joshua could do it, but he also could get knocked the fukk out. A neutered Tyson (I'm in no way defending how overrated he is) had Manny Steward shook for Lennox Lewis, who's 100x better than AJ. Tyson could definitely get inside on AJ before catching a KO punch.

Joshua hasn't done enough in the sport yet for me to think he wouldn't get Frank Brunoed by Iron Mike. :manny:

I'll have to disagree with Larry on this one. I can revisit this in 5-6 years tho.

I heard a video on this and dude went in on Larry Holmes called Larry bitter and said he need to cut that shyt off his head.
Tyson was a heavyweight wrecking machine when he stopped a 38-year-old ageing Holmes in four rounds back in 1988 before his career unravelled and never really fulfilled the promise he had before being upset by Buster Douglas in 1990.

However, Holmes feels man mountain Joshua would have beaten the 5ft 10in slugger easily.

“He would have knocked out a prime Mike Tyson,” he said. “There's no reckon about it.

“Mike Tyson went down low and then came up and tried to throw roundhouses. But Joshua would just hit him with a straight right hand on the side of his damn chin and Mike wouldn't get up.

“He never fought anyone who was coming up and trying to make their way in the sport. He just went in there – bang, bang, bang and knocked everyone out. That's how he got the reputation as a puncher.

“I'm not taking anything away from Mike Tyson – he kicked my ass. But I was out for two years, I had quit boxing, I hadn't done anything for two years apart from sing with the band and travel.”

Larry Holmes mustve read my previous posts on Tyson bc I said the exact same thing:mjpls:

He also said McGreggor would beat Floyd :flabbyndead:

Oh yeah...and wake me up when Joshua is able to draw 50,000+ people in a country he has no affiliation with and doesn't speak the language

Mike was the last boxer to be a household name in every continent...not just in his home country...some ridiculous insinuations in this thread.

I guess Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank & Frank Bruno were bigger draws than Floyd (based on some of the shyt i'm reading in this thread) because they sold out 40/50k seat stadiums and Floyd didn't. :heh:

shyt...Dariusz M,Sven Ottke & Henry Maske used to regularly fill up 30-40k seat stadiums...filling up stadiums for damn there any event is just European sporting culture.

Joshua is not even worthy to be compared to Bruno though...Joshua's only "big fight" was against a 41 year old coming off a two year layoff and a lopsided loss...and he looked like shyt in the fight.

Compare that to what Bruno faced in big fights...nuff said.

HE didn’t win any of them though. Getting KOed and slumped is not impressive.
