Yeah - I'd have to think about it. But I couldn't see him lower than 10. Personally at least. I could see people putting the bomb squad over him for example, but I wouldn't.
As good as the Bomb Squad was I don't see that sound working for everybody. Like I couldn't hear Rakim over the Rebel Without a Pause track. Those beats worked perfect for MCs like Cube and Chuck D becuz their flows were so methodical. But anybody can rhyme over a Large Pro beat

A lot of people consider that Breaking Atoms album to be a classic. I definitely think he's top 10

I love that album, bro, but I wouldn't put it up there with the Chronic's, Cuban Linx', the Illmatics, etc. Definitely a GREAT fvcking album though. Wouldn't argue with anyone calling it a classic tho, even tho I don't think it is.

Oh I wouldn't put it up there with those albums either

Yea, I have a VERY high standard when it comes to calling an album classic. There are soooo many dope ass albums from that era that I think fell just short of being undeniable classics. Breaking Atoms is one of those, imo.

Also Pro production resume is not as lofty and too spread out compared to some of the other great producers. I would love for him to start producing at a more prolific pace.

he also needs a shoutout for being the most chill guy in hip hop

people always prodding him about new Nas joints 'if it happens, it happens. hes still my friend forever' :blessed:

hes like that dude that will give you a ride to the airport and not bytch about it :blessed:

Me and one of the homies on here was talking about that last week. Seems like a real cool, stand up guy. And he always seems like he has Nas' back like how he defended Nas/Ether in that one Combat Jack interview where it looked like the whole room (Just Blaze, Combat...) was trying to throw shade at Ether.

I think the reason he gets overlooked sometimes is cuz he never had a distinctive sound like Primo, RZA, or Pete Rock but he might be the best ever and picking loops. I think only Q Tip and Dilla come close in that regard

You definitely right about that.

I also had no idea he produced you're da man which is crazy to me because That's my favorite nas song.

Speaking of extra p and nas this is also another one of my fav joints they did

ive never even heard him diss the 2 other members of Main Source, who kicked him out of the group because their mother was the manager and thought he was getting all the attention

outside of having the first Jadakiss appearance, the 2nd MS album wasn't really notable :francis: http://www.discogs.com/Main-Source-fukk-What-You-Think/release/569686
