People just wanted a hot Russian blonde to come out and talk shyt to them. They were booing Rusev and cheering Lana but it was all gravy because I think that male fans in particular were getting a little s&m/domination type of thing out of it....

I still say they could've given Rusev the belt in that era and had him on some Iron Sheik heel type shyt and built Roman up to beat him for the belt for America.
That would've worked better than feeding Rusev to Cena, breaking him and Lana up, putting them in a dumb ass love triangle with Dolph Ziggler, then just having Rusev as som random ass dude in League of Nations.
They could've rode that anti-American gimmick to put Roman over eventually
