Not really feeling this as much as Born To Die. The production, which was incredible on BTD, is stripped down BIG time. Her vocals aren't really strong enough to carry an entire album of intimate songs. There's some great tracks, but as a whole, I feel a little let down. It's almost like she took the Lykke Li route where it was "hold up, you guys are trying to make me a pop star, let me show you that I'm actually a singer/songwriter first and foremost". A lot of the songs sound the same, it's missing a "Diet Mountain Dew" or "Off To The Races" type of track.

Lykke Li's debut album was catchy as fukk.

When im tired from working out on the train this album puts me semi to sleep in a good way as if she near me singing in a nikka ear :ahh:
It gets even better wit each listen. shyt blows Born To Die out the water imo

Its really good. I'm still tripping off how dude said this was music made to sell. Nothing about any of these tracks screams "play on the radio". This shyt sounds like if mazzy star sung about drugs instead of w/e else they talk about lol. Plus the production is just lush as fukk...this is Art/Dream pop more than anything. Her lyrics are still terrible for the most part but I rarely listen to music for lyrical brilliance unless thats all they can lean on a la bob dylan...I actually find her vapidness endearing lmfao. Singing about such banal things over this detached dense production. Its amazing imo.

Haha that's pretty much the same way I've been listening to the album, on the train after working or whatever.

I really like the album overall. 'West Coast' is still great, what makes it for me is the synthesizer towards the end. And 'Florida Kilos', damn that's so good. And that shyt's a bonus track, isn't it? So great.

Decided to just buy it and after a couple listens through I'm digging it. I do like Born to Die better, but I was needing some new material and I'm satisfied. There's just something about her voice and the sound of the music she makes that's very soothing to me :wow:

Florida Kilos sounds like it should be the feature song on the next cocaine movie :ohlawd:

Also love the hook to Money Power Glory. Sounds like with some editing it should be in some highlight package to a show dealing with someone's rise to power.
