They've been playing with fire for a very long time. The smush parker years were mild compared to what the future holds. If Dwight leaves they mine as well give the team back to Minnesota.

If Dwight leaves, we'll be down for another year or two. But there's gonna be a whole lot of cap space opening up. Just gotta sign up some marque free agents.

That's the fire I am talking about. There aren't any bigs like Dwight coming through the doors. I also don't think you can sucker any more superstars to play with Kobe. You don't need to play in LA to win and this newer generation of superstars are all about forging their own legacies.

Miami, OKC, Clippers, Warriors etc all young, talented and in today's NBA all better attractions for players. Only thing that can save the Lakers is Dwight staying because he is well liked but even his image is taking a hit and that goes along way in attracting other players.

Who are they going to trade Dwight for?

When has trading a star for a bunch of role players every amounted to anything?

Im kinda referring to team without Kobe. If we fall all the way off, I don't know if Kobe stays. If Kobe wants to win with the Lakers he's gonna have to take a paycut. I don't know if he's willing to do that. With the new cap rules a max contract for Kobe will be an albatross that would really limit the Lakers moving forward. So if Kobe leaves, there is no better place to create your own legacy.

They really should trade Dwight around the deadline if it's a certainty that they will miss the playoffs.

Even though this draft is gonna be possibly the worst ever they still dont want to look bad and totally gut the team and end up giving up a top 5 pick

Plus i still think Dwight will resign with LA for no other reason then they can give him the most money

This could potentially be crippling to their franchise in the next few years.

I love it though :blessed:
