If not for Bynum's immaturity issues they could. Before it was risky trading him for his health, now it's risky because of his attitude.
Word is Bynum is going to Germany to get on the KobeSystem for his knee. Seeing how his health has been this year I don't think that'll be an issue anymore.
Problem with Bynum is that dude just don't give a fukk. He says whatever is on his mind, could give a fukk about criticisms and really doesn't have a STRONG passion for the game.

I wouldn't even mind keeping metta if not for his contract being so large. Same goes for Pau, people wouldn't be nearly as critical of Pau if he didn't have such a fukking huge contract.

I can't even be mad at Bynum for his attitude about playing for the Lakers. Ever since he's been in the league there have been trade rumors involving him. Lakers fans wanted him shipped out, Phil wanted him shipped out, Kobe wanted him shipped out. If people are always talking about getting rid of you at some point for your own sanity you just gotta be like "fukk it

Plus given the situation he did well. He definitely improved the Lakers defense (when they actually bothered to commit to playing D). He took over during a shortened season where for much of the preseason he wasn't sure who was going to even be a part of the team.

The best part is that its based on absolutely nothing other than the common cycle of Laker fans assuming every player on the roster is amazing, until they lose and then they become among the worst in the league.
Just extreme highs and lows. It must be terrible to constantly be on that emotional rollercoaster.

Goudelock could have helped with the outside shooting, but he sucked at everything else.
What has Blake done better than Goudelock?
Obviously not scoring. Neither can be playmakers but at least Goudelock keeps the D honest.
