No one else in LA LAKER history has 3 peated while winning 3 straight finals MVP's. This man deserves a statue point blank period. I don't care about the rift with the organization, i don't care about his relationship with kobe, or him berating management. I don't care about any of that.

I didn't realize til a moment ago that Shaq had a a 6 year straight run as the first team All NBA center and made first second or third team 14 times in 19 years. A lotta youngsters remember Shaq from the Lakers and Heat days and dont remember what Shaq was at one time. Unstoppable with excellent athleticism for his size and it was like literally every time he got the ball u knew he would dunk or get fouled. People talk about Shaq getting more out of his game, but looking back on it he was pretty much guarnteed 27 and 11 (definitely should have got more boards) in his prime. Tha's with getting hacked all game long and being big as a bytch. For all the talk of what he could have did look at what he did and for how long at the size. Yeah he could have stayed in better shape and worked on the throws. Definitely should have got more rebounds and blocks. But he got four titles and will one day be remembered as the second best center after Kareem in time. Because we all know Shaq would have crushed Wilt in the post. I'm a Wilt fan but Shaq would have got his 30 and 15 when it's said and done. And to be that big he got up and down the court pretty well until the end, so he had to be in some shape (probably more than most on this board). Glad he's getting his jersey retired and he should also be honored after Zo by the Heat and have his number in he rafters. Getting Shaq got them that first ring, and that counts for something in my book. (Maybe third after The Dream)
Yup, only MJ has won 3 straight and won 3 straight FMVP's as well.
People need to remember shaq for what he did ON THE COURT and not what he did off of it

So? You are saying that all from the angle of a fan, shaq went to 5 other teams, shaq didn't retire with the lakers. I don't care how dominant he was during those 3 championships he does not deserve a statue.
