It doesn't matter who your coach is, if you have players that are too slow or too lazy to stay in front of their man, defense is going to be a problem. As good as Dwight is defensively, he's going to get beat often when he is left hanging by the first line of defense.

@Bilz we Knicks fans told you this in the dantoni thread . He wanted Melo to only stay behind the perimeter too that's his strategy

I'm sure D'Antoni isn't helping but this issue was there with Mike Brown and it was there with Phil Jackson as well. That's what Bynum was talking about when he talked about trust issues. He didn't want to leave his own man and get the blame for letting him score because he was covering for someone else's blown assignment.

The pick and roll has been a problem for the Lakers defense for a long time but I've been seeing Kobe just stand flat footed while his man drives right by him and then he just points at his man and throws his hands up in the air in disgust when his man either has a layup or an easy pass to a big man for a dunk depending on whether or not Dwight or Pau rotates.
