London blogger Laila Swann is about to find out whether the French live up to their reputation as romantics, if Italians are sophisticated, and if New Yorkers are as no-nonsense as they’re made out to be.

The 23-year-old, from Hampstead, is embarking on five-city tour to learn more about how the rest of the world dates – and how they mess things up when things go horribly wrong.

Although she isn’t in a relationship, Laila said she is not heading overseas with the purpose of finding a match when she meets with experts and local singles during her six-week trip.

Her role as Match.com’s ‘date explorer’ calls for her to be more of a researcher than anything, as she finds out how London’s dating scene differs from those in New York, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Rome and Stockholm.
