The mess that was my last relationship.
One day after all the crying and yelling and drinking and feeling my blood pressure go up and stay up I told myself no more, I can choose to deal with this more effectively than I have been. Started reading more, working on self-improvement, cutting down on alcohol, avoiding emotional triggers, etc. Worked well enough to the point that I'm still doing all of those things over a year later. I find that if I start slacking I feel it all over (physically, mentally, etc.) too.
