Yeah these are real black couples but in REAL reality (not the magazine world) it doesn't normally work out this way. Obviously the magazine is going to portray the happiest people they can find to get people like you to read their crappy articles. These "amazing" relationships that you're posting are atypical. Last I check these women are not on their wedding day. They are taking a professional photo with their husband. It's like you have a problem with every damn thing. I'm not worried at all hun and believe it or not these are normal people. I first learned about these Essence features because a person I went to college with (she is posted in this thread) is featured. Look at their occupations; these are everyday people.

Also, I don't know if these women lives are amazing lives. They may be desperate and settling since they're past their prime. That's the point of this thread. If you don't get married now (since most of us are in are 20s), these are the types of guys you'll be stuff with.

The thing is this isn't an issue to begin with. If fat women and ugly women can find husbands why can't "old" women? And the evidence the thread-starter posted is evidence that they can.





You don't have to. Because some other men did.

And the woman you're with is going to be past her "prime" eventually too. And so will you. So what difference does it makes that a women gets married young and grows past her prime or if she waits till after her prime to start a family? Do you think there aren't men past their prime that are single? With the divorce rate the way it is?
