So true. People want to rag on that Indian guy poster but I think both what you and he say is spot on. With darker skin dudes, it seems to be so much more about " swag", having an impeccable style and physical build with the perfect personality. Truth be told, all things being equal the light skinned or white dude would get more play. And I for the life of me have never seen this alleged drooling over dark skinned black men offline IRL with black women.

Now from what I've seen, in the rare instances where the dark skinned guy is preferred based purely on complexion, it is 9/10 with the white women, European white and some Australian women who discriminately prefer black men specifically over anything else.

I've seen average everyday white chicks with some of the most dark complected rag tag Jamaicans, Hatians, Nigerians and AA's lookin very comfortable here in NYC. I don't think I've ever in my life, on or off line witnessed a white chick drool over and comment about a preference for lighter skinned black dudes with european features. But I have definitely witnessed black and Latin women, old and young fall out of their chairs when that "Genuwine" look comes strolling by, ESPECIALLY if that dude lets it be known that he prefers their type. But the average black chick IMO does not prefer a guy to be too dark, but usually a light brown to medium brown seems be the sliding scale of desirability and in most instances he will get bonus points for lighter eyes and loose curly hair while looking average or well below it.

The Indian dude is right IMO, women particularly black and Latinas are far more color struck than people are willing to notice or admit. Now, black dudes aren't nearly as focused on complexion as women are and they definitely don't care what color they think their kids are gonna come out. Brothas let anything fly with a woman, particulary with a black woman if she's got buns like a basketball (stank attitude and all). But most don't put emphasis on color at all.
