Over the past number of years Something has been really bothering me about WWE. Everyone Know WWE's Creative Process has not been good, but what about the lack of characters ? There has not been a whole lot of interesting characters in WWE over the past 6 or 7 years now. Everyone can't just be a Great Wrestler or "I've Wrestled all over the world" or I'm just lucky to be here". For Example, Ricochet, He is awesome in the ring, but he doesn't have a character. Same thing with Chad Gable, Good in the ring, barely has a character. Speaking of Alpha Academy, They zapped all the personality away from Otis, all he is now is a Genetic Big Man. He even does the Generic big man Vader Bomb now. There's lots of more examples but that could take all day. Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this. Not really looking to start a argument, just wanted to start a conversation.

Yeah, all the new guys grew up on Benoit, Eddie, Angle, Mysterio, etc. They took aspects of the ring work and none of the character shyt that made them awesome.

I’ve come to accept that I’m just washed and the wrestling majority prefers ring work over characters and mic work. The next guy who has both is going to be a big deal.

also you know what you’re doing

It's one of punks influences imo. I even remember initially his wwe slogan was "my drug is competition" or some shyt like that. Punks success lead to an influx of Indy guys who were good in the ring but lacked character. Which is interesting because punk himself had a character and tweaked his gimmick a handful of times in his career

Yeah... last month when I saw that recently, Vince hasn't been looking for 'wrestlers' but 'characters', I saw all the internet kids havin' a fit like "see this is what's wrong with WWE today, he hates wrestling!"... I was like :usure: I think they have more than enough 'wrestling guys' who just love to wrestle and do cool moves for the workrate addicts, but that's not the shyt that's gonna sell merch and tickets, and never has been. The characters are the ones who sell the matches and get the crowds invested. Especially in WWE... their two biggest eras ever were built on the characters more than the in-ring.

That's a problem that should be getting solved in developmental

:mjlol:Still trying to figure out what characters are being developed in NXT. At this point, NXT is just high hopes for indy wrestlers that needs a pat on the shoulder because that's ALL they are getting besides Pappy H words of encouragement.

Company sucks. Plain and simple. The can afford to keep all these big names happy, but thats their only saving grace.

That's why I fukk with who I fukk with.

This shyt been bothering me since 2014. These new nikkas got the personality of a sun-dried piece of cardboard. fukk the matches, that's cool and shyt, but where are the folks who got personality?

Ricky Starks cut that promo on Powerrr and he restored the feeling.
