:francis: Gonna be a lotta competition if PHX TOR and Minnesota keep it up
he'll say least be in consideration. I'll give you PHX but MIN was supposed to be this good years ago. They always had talent
we're beating annihilating teams we're supposed to

Im guilty as charged
Some people in here were 100% sure kevin porter jr was going to be a star and better than herro :mjlol: I learned my lesson about trying to predict the draft a long time ago after preferring TJ Ford to Dwyane Wade.
Oh y'all were these cats, huh:mjlol: We live and we learn:manny:
I remember all that talk about Ford. As usual I had no choice but to HOPE the front office and the coaching staff knew what they were doing since, again, I don't watch college sports so I have no idea who's good and who's not. I'll either have a good feeling about a pick just like I did about Josh Richardson or I won't.

I remember the one pick I was uneasy about was the Michael Beasley pick because even at the lottery Riley made it clear that he wanted to trade that second pick because he did not want Beasley and had no shot at Derrick Rose. I looked at Beasley's highlights to see what the hype was about and I liked him but I was also perplexed about why Riley didn't want him. At least didn't seem to want him. It's well documented that Spoelstra, Keith Askins and the rest of the coaching staff had to convince Riley to keep the pick and draft Beasley. We saw how Beasley's career went.:smugdraper:

And remember the whole time people were hyping up Beasley and Riley was trying to trade the pick meanwhile Dwyane Wade was actually hanging out with OJ Mayo all off-season throughout the pre-draft period training together. Not saying OJ Mayo is that much better but he would have probably been nice paired up with young D-Wade

The Heat not only enter Saturday's game against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans at 4-0 at AmericanAirlines Arena, but with a league-best 14.8 scoring margin at home, as well as the league's best home field-goal percentage (..497) and second-best home 3-point percentage (.426).

"We're getting off to good starts," center Kelly Olynyk said. "And that's really a huge thing, especially at home. When you go on the road and you're down 15-4, that stuff takes a toll through the whole game and then you're battling up the hill on the road. So if we can keep getting off to good starts, I like our chances."

It very much has been an uphill battle this season for all who have entered in opposing colors.

There was a 23-point lead in the opener against the Memphis Grizzlies.

A 20-point lead in the next home game, against the Atlanta Hawks.

A 41-point lead in the annihilation of the Houston Rockets.

And then, on Tuesday night, a 29-point lead against the Detroit Pistons.

"We come out of that locker room, we're just together," guard Goran Dragic said. "We just care."

Heat President Pat Riley made a point at the end of last season about the frustration of the 2018-19 homecourt futility.
[Most Read Heat Coverage] Heat’s Meyers Leonard living in Hassan Whiteside’s home, but without fish custody »
"We sell the product through culture, we sell the product through on-court performance, especially at home, which we didn’t get that," Riley said in April. "That bothers me. How we lost games at home at times really upset me and the last thing I want to do is send our fans out to the beautiful night of Miami cheering like crazy in the first half of the 20-point lead and then leaving with a one-point loss."

Riley wasn't the only one exiting with an empty feeling last season. Dragic said there is a sense of obligation to the home crowd, one that has proved more rewarding this season.

"The fans are paying for those tickets, our fans, and we want to give them what they want -- and that's winning," he said. "It didn't feel right last season. For me, the whole season didn't feel right anyway, but, yeah, we want to be one of those teams that is dominating at home."

Dragic said the quality of opponent should be a secondary factor.

"When you play at home, this is our house," he said. "We should protect it, no matter who is playing."

It really is crazy how much Hassan is a Trojan Horse. He looks decent, puts up decent box score stats but he rarely makes any teams better anymore.

Whiteside is talented and can be incredibly dominant when he’s motivated but he’s also a horribly flawed played that can be easily exploited by good teams on both ends.

Yea let’s not act like Dion who.is out here :drunk::deadmanny:and hasn’t been around the team much or even JJ who couldn’t even bother to come into camp in shape. Or this team taking for granted that teams would come into South beach like the Rockets did earlier :deadmanny:for partying in South Beach no he trying to be subtle it was all Whiteside fault:francis:this team couldn’t make free throws and missed wide open shots last season

So we just going to ignore Portland loss both Harkless and Farouq Aminu which cover up a lot of Dame & CJ short coming defensively or that CJ and Dame have had some off games at time early this season nope Whiteside is a Trojan house it’s his fault
