these turnovers smh

nunn's defense :hhh:
Nunn has come down to earth so it might be time to bench him and leave duncan with winslow and butler. Maybe even start KO and have meyers come off the bench but he gets limited minutes anyway so spo might not change that

Gonna have to get dion and JJ in the rotation at some point.

Ya boy been shooting 20% from the field for 5 straight games :francis:
I'm still not for benching Nunn but it's whatever. :manny:
I think he'll be fine. We seen rookies hit walls before. Last I remember y'all were ready to lynch J-Rich after that bad bad slump but Soo stuck with him til he shot his way out of it and it paid off.

I like Nunn but i dont love him so my goal with Nunn is to have him play his way into the hearts of GMs around the league to up his trade value and then package him in for a star hopefully since I'd prefer to keep Bustise if we can for his defense to clamp down in guys like Tatum and Simmons

Perfection at home and 15-6 overall certainly has the Miami Heat in lofty quarters just past the quarter pole of the 82-game NBA season.

Already, there have been road victories over the Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors. And there barely has been a flinch at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Yet there also is the reality of seven of the victories coming against teams likely to be on the outside in the Eastern Conference playoff race: Two apiece against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks, and one each against the Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls.

Beyond that, three of the other eight victories have come against the three worst teams in the Western Conference: Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors.

In other words, in grading on a curve, there has to be perspective for a team that has had big moments while also taking care of the little things.

So how are things grading out at the moment for Erik Spoelstra's team? Here's how:

Jimmy Butler: It took a while for the Heat to get to closing time, with most of their early-season games producing lopsided results. But when crunch time arrived, Butler crushed it in Brooklyn and Toronto. Yes, there could be more scoring, and there certainly was with the 37 Wednesday night in Boston, but such singular focus likely would stunt the growth of others. Grade: A+

Bam Adebayo: There has not been a box that hasn’t already been checked off by the third-year center. He has taken defensive challenges from Russell Westbrook to Pascal Siakam, has loaded up on rebounds, has displayed enough offense to make himself a nightly double-double threat. The Heat knew what they were doing when they moved on from Hassan Whiteside. Grade: A

Goran Dragic: The move to the bench has been seamless and seemingly, at 33, has rejuvenated the veteran point guard. No matter how the rest of the rotation is playing out, Dragic has been the constant when it comes to reliable bench scoring, a necessary component in today’s NBA and an element clearly missed in the loss in Boston. Grade: B+

Tyler Herro: In some ways it was interesting, when comparing the stats of the two, that the NBA’s nod for its opening Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month went to teammate Kendrick Nunn. The constant with the first-round pick out of Kentucky is the reliable jumper. Grade: B

Kendrick Nunn: The emergence of Nunn in many ways has been the key to unlocking a rotation that allows Goran Dragic to thrive off the bench, while also providing kick-out options for Jimmy Butler with the first unit. The ups have far outweighed the downs. Grade: B

Duncan Robinson: Who saw this coming, a starting role and routine 20-point contributions from the undrafted forward and former two-way player? Of all of the Heat’s developmental projects over the franchise’s 32 seasons, this one might be the most remarkable. Grade: B

Justise Winslow: There are moments when Winslow puts himself in the same two-way conversation as Jimmy Butler, but also other moments when he stands as a liability on offense. In light of the time lost to injury, gains should be expected during the next grading period. Grade: B-

Kelly Olynyk: As he comes around from his offseason knee injury, the unique contribution continues to re-emerge. Still, a bit too inconsistent. Grade: B-

Chris Silva: Let’s hear it for hustle, which the forward on a two-way contract has shown still has its place in the Heat approach. Grade: C+

Meyers Leonard: There are times when it’s as if the 7-foot big man is not there. But then he reminds of the ability to space the floor and crush with screens. More of that, please. Grade: C

Derrick Jones Jr.: If only he could stay healthy. The spark can be undeniable. But that means first being in uniform. Right now, he’s on the fringe of the rotation. Grade: C-

James Johnson: The NBA is about seizing moments. Johnson hasn’t seized the rare opportunities this season. A shame. Grade: D

Dion Waiters: A self-inflicted disaster to start the season. Grade: F

Udonis Haslem: An "A" for leadership, but otherwise nothing tangible on the court to assess what remains at 39. Grade: Incomplete

KZ Okpala: First, the second-round pick out of Stanford needs to move past the Achilles strain. Then, the 6-8 forward will move on to Sioux Falls of the G League for his first true professional tests. Grade: Incomplete

Daryl Macon: The results in the G League have been impressive for the 6-2 guard. But the NBA portion of his two-way contract remains on hold. Grade: Incomplete

I think Intruder the only one still doing that corny shyt. On here atleast

Speaking of, I been meaning to ask where yall think Winslow and Bam would go in a re-draft of the lotteries in the years that they were drafted
2015 NBA Draft | Basketball-Reference.com

2017 NBA Draft | Basketball-Reference.com

I got Justise “the bust” at #5, and Bam at 4.
We all entitled to our opinions. And 2015 was a horrible draft when you think the top talents out of there were Winslow, Karl Anthony Towns, DeAngelo Russell, Devin Booker, Krystap Porzingis, Kelly Oubre and Myles Turner (very underrated) just to name a few.

Come to think of it I can't think of a single draft in the past 10 years that was loaded either. So that's why scouting and teams putting an emphasis on player development is key these days.

Am I the only one who thinks Winslows struggles may possibly be health-related?
Doubt it

He looks much quicker this year. Talking first step and lateral speed. I like what he's done with his body too (no homo). He looks like he dropped a few pounds, toned up and managed to keep his strength. His midrange jump-shot is just broken as it's always been and he still cant finish plays at the rim. His leaping ability has never been anything special or even average. Which is a shame because he now has the quickness to blow by virtually anyone he wants to but since he struggles finishing the scouting report on him moving forward will be let him beat you and everyone stay with their man so he cant dish it to cutting teammates.

This is his main problem, not staying on the court long enough to get into a rhythm. I'll let the concussion slide but he has to start playing through some of these ticky tack injuries.
As someone who's had back problems all my life since i was 16 and my father also had back surgery I am not gonna pressure anyone who has back issues. shyt is nothing to play with. If you are careless with back problems they only get exponentially worse.

Put it this way: You heard of the epidural injections they give women giving birth? Back in 2007 i hurt my back and i was getting those like once every 5 weeks JUST SO I could go through physical therapy. Since i lived alone I once spent DAYS stuck in a spot and couldnt move. Not even to go to the restroom or to reach for my phone. It's this mexican chick i was messing with that came to check on me after calling me a dozen times with no answer. She got me up and hauled me to the hospital. Thus why i still fukk with her even tho deep down we cant stand each other anymore.

Epidural injection procedure.

When that steroid hits that nerve if feels like the worse pain ever. Feels like you leg literally exploded. :sadcam:But that pain/feeling only last like less than half a second. After about a minute you feel like you can almost do backflips again

But if it's spasms he'll be okay as long as he gets massages and RESTS. REST is key.

All that pounding on the vertebrae from leaping will do that to you.

Mine were originally from basketball too. Then car accident mad them worse with the sciatic nerve pains. :why: Winslow still needs to rest it as much as he can, tho. Whenever mines flare up again first thing i do is schedule a massage at my chiropractor's office. That way i get the muscle loosened up with the massage just before i get adjusted by the chiropractor. Then rest on a firm mattress.
Over the years ive learned what works for me and that's what works for me :manny:
Yoga tends to cause it to flare up if anything. At least the first couple of times i did yoga years ago it did. Maybe i was doing it wrong. I'm currently dating a yoga instructor and when i attend her classes she makes sure to adjust me if i'm doing something wrong.
