My breh
They were pure ass cheeks last season! But we all saw the changes at the trade deadline and how they played a good stretch of the season without Bron.
Does this mean they will win a ring this year? No!
The Lakers are 23-10 (.697) in their last 33. The road only gets tougher from here, but same goes for every team remaining in The Tournament. It's hard to close out a championship...
The remaining teams in the field, here are their last 33 games:
Philadelphia 24-9 (.727)
New York 23-10 (.697)
Los Angeles 23-10 (.697)
Boston 22-11 (.667)
Phoenix 21-12 (.636)
Denver 20-13 (.606)
Sacramento 20-13 (.606)
San Francisco 19-14 (.576)
Miami 18-15 (.545)
For 2½ months the Lakers have been the best team in the Western Conference. I get why it's been slow for heads to put faith in this team, the first 4 months of this season were a disaster and only looked to be getting worse...
Every team's chances to win it all boils down to health and the ability to adjust to different matchup challenges your next opponent presents. That's what it comes down to for LA, ànd that's what it comes down to for everyone else. No one is different in that regard...
But we now have a rolling two months of the best team in conference, with absolute game-breaking, devastating defensive peaks. That defense should keep LA in every series even if they ultimately get eliminated; this level of defensive play will make them competitive with anyone...
Nothing is a lock and we certainly far from guaranteed, there are specific weaknesses other teams can exploit....
But we made it to The Elite Eight. Think about that. The way this year started, and the Lakers are one of the final 8 teams standing outta 30...
They have as good a shot to win as anybody else still alive and anyone downplaying the Lakers' chances is either a nonbelieving "Laker fan" or a pure Laker or LeBron hater...
