Huh? Kyrie's line isn't bad. What kind of under a rock line of thinking is that.

Kyrie has had a few down years in his line but "pretty bad" is simply not true.

Nike has done absolutely nothing of note with his line since it's inception. There's a similar design sensibility across each version - they lean too much into storytelling and collabs rather than design and color blocking. This isn't an indictment on Kyrie's line but most all of Nike's basketball sneakers for years and years with the exception of Kobe's. Kyrie doesn't even care for them.

But like what you like and buy what you like.

His line is pretty bad, I'm not surprised that Nike doesn't work too closely with players on aesthetics.

I'm not sure how common it is in the industry for designers to work hand in hand with athletes beyond maybe cushioning and construction preferences - even then seems like the company would just tell them how their shoes sits in the hierarchy / price structure and what is available to them.

Iverson said he picked the designs of all of his Reebok shoes.

Maybe this a Nike thing.

Which was interesting because I thought I saw him wear testing them when they first leaked. I guess they couldn't get them right.
