That’s not true. Iirc Cleveland flirted with trading Kyrie but didn’t (I believe it was for PG), and once Kyrie heard about that he decided to leave

But the minute details are irrelevant bc since then Kyrie himself has said he regrets leaving

"When I look back on what I was going through at that time, I wish I did [talk to LeBron], because it would've been a good understanding of what the future will hold for both of us and we know how much power we both had together….Me and him in the league together running Cleveland, and then being able to put a better team together every single year would've definitely been worth it," he added.

:yeshrug:
Then what was the talk about Bron "giving Kyrie the Keys"?

Bron was done. Kyrie knew about it.

You are right about flirting with trading tho

What context? I believe that was about letting Kyrie be the primary scorer. And he basically did. They took the same amount of shots that year.

The part no one wants to talk about is Kobe kinda poisoned Kyrie’s brain thinking he needed to get out of Bron shadow. There is no universe where Kyrie would have ever surpassed Lebron. But he didn’t need to. Both Magic and Kareem are top 10/5. Both Shaq and Kobe are top 10. But at that time Kyrie didn’t understand. :manny:

Literally what he been doing for half a decade now :wtf:

Sidenote Kyrie is one of the biggest ‘what if’s’ of all time. Ngga should have never left Lebron. :francis:

As it stands he’s first ballot, will go down as a peoples champ, greatest handles, etc, but not even thought of for top 75. W/ Lebron he could have rode it to top 10 status. Steph’s legacy has gone thru the roof to the point people have long forgotten Kyrie outplayed him straight up on the highest stage. Bron covered all of Kyrie’s weaknesses. Oh well.
Top 10 with no MVP is crazy lmao I say this as someone who LOVES Kyrie's game btw

It is what it is. Kobe gave Kyrie his own blueprint. Say what you want about Shaq and blame whoever for how that duo ended, but Kobe’s personality and ego were never going to allow him to be satisfied with being the second option and not challenging himself to see if he could be the primary leader on a title team. Kyrie essentially had the same mindset. The only difference is Kyrie realized he wasn’t built for that, and Kobe was built for that. But there was only ever going to be one way to find out.
