Skill for skill they are pretty even. I think Kyrie has the wetter, more natural j. Kyrie is also a better finisher with better handles...
Neither one are elite shot creators for others but I'd probably give Dame the edge on that one. Dame has deeper range 50% of today's NBA can hit from 35 feet. I think Kyrie is the better scorer at all levels of the floor. Neither one are worth a damn on defense but Dame is really unimpressive on that end...
Dame seems to be the better leader and I'd rather have him on my team. Unproblematic, guys like playing with him, and he doesn't belittle or alienate coaches. It would be one thing if Kyrie had this effect on teammates and coaches and his team won big, but they don't. As a #1 he's:
•played in only 20 games, team was better without him, Nets were 8-12 with him, 27-25 without him...
•got backdoor swept by a Bucks team that got backdoored in the very next round, while he shot 30.1% (!) from the field and 18.5% (!!) from three in the four games they lost...
•his most impressive season to me was the first Boston year, but again that team was better without him...
•led the Cavs to 27.7 wins/year his first 3 years (pre-LeBron)...
We obviously know he can be the secomd best player on a champion, but your #1 better be All-Time great...
I dont want this to take away from Dame's own playoff misfires, and since Aldridge left, he's only guided Portland to 45.2 wins/year---->Dame isn't some major winning player who just tears thru people or wins at a high level consistently. He’s only been past the 1st Rd in 2/4 playoffs without Aldridge, getting ready to be 2/5...
But he seems a better leader and I think he could be the #2 on a champion. Overall, they are pretty equal, I'd give a slight edge to Dame...
