Kyrie Irving will make his season debut Sunday when the
Cleveland Cavaliershost the
Philadelphia 76ers.
"I'm pretty F'ing excited," Irving said Saturday. "There were a few things I had to clear, but there was no rush on it. ... I've been ready to play, but biomechanically we just wanted to make sure everything was good so I wouldn't put myself at risk."
Cavs coach David Blatt said the team will monitor Irving's minutes, but the point guard is expected to start against the 76ers. Backup point guard
Mo Williams is out with a sprained wrist, and
Iman Shumpert is questionable with a groin strain.
