I do remember reading in the paper that since this was one of the biggest political crimes to date that they wanted to make an example out of him, hence the harsh sentence.

I do also remember hearing during the election that alot of people simply picked him because he was young. A friend of my Mom thought he was cute and simply voted him off of that notion.

The mayor just did what all mayors have done. He stole less money than the previous mayors -- It's just that he was soo cocky w it, and also he was Unfortunate enough to be a young black mayor of a Major city right before CAC wanted to come in a put Detroit back to 1950's status.

I think he should get 7 years - just for giving young black guys a bad name and zero time for anything else. You shouldn't go to jail for fulfilling precedent.
