Breh was kind of doomed. Entered during the end of an era full of superstars, had to make a name for himself quick and standout. Was already an Olympian, so his gimmick as the arrogant wrestler was basically set in stone from the beginning. Then he had to keep doing bigger and bigger spots, and doing more and more prescription drugs to compensate for him doing shyt he never should've been in the first place.I wonder if Kurt would've been as popular and successful if he had chose to wrestle a style that didn't rely so heavily on hitting as many spots as possible and kicking out of a bunch of stuff to get the crowd hyped up.
He had all the tools to be amazing without that in mind so I think he would've been incredibly popular. But maybe I'm in the minority
Wrestling can be incredibly entertaining without flippy shyt for the sake of flippy shyt and a quick pop from the crowd. Just look at what Kofi and Bryan did 2 weeks ago. That shyt had like 1 dive from Kofi and everyone loved the match, rightfully so.
Frankly the fact that he managed to rise to the top is somewhat of a miracle, because that shyt could've easily been as big a flop as it was a success. Especially since there were already technical wrestlers like Eddie Guerrero who could do high-spots without looking like a jackass.
And Angle's right, "What was I thinking?" if it's a cage match, and you're at the top... just climb out and win.
