Way to ruin a moment KRS

So what we supposed to do just worship all these rappers everyday on the off chance they might die?

These self centered nikkas need to get over themselves, no one is doing that for actors, directors, author, fashion designers, social activists, politicians, etc.

These nikkas want an encore applause to last an eternity

Yeah fukk them what they ever do for us?

So many great points here.

For him to say Fatman Scoop energy is missing from the radio is spot on!

That good vibe energy. Make you dance.

For him to not overly care about other genres is also on point because he's saying we need to do alot in Hip Hop culture as hip hop artists, fans, participants.

Krs has always been focused on hardcore hip hop and the essence of the culture.

the Hip Hop Museum in the Bronx is being worked on as we speak. It's no longer an idea.

Streets in his own borough being renamed after rappers. I don't live that far from Scott LaRock Boulevard. There is and always will be a disconnect at times with generations but now more than ever flowers get thrown your way from those who want to throw them.

Scoop was having a hard time getting gigs, Premier spoke on this. So he was asking Primo to vouch for him with promoters. He wasn't being shown the respect.

Hot 97 also cut his show because they said he "didn't resonate" with audiences. They replaced him with a gossip show, with people who aren't from the community. This is what KRS is referencing. Bro was having trouble keeping jobs, and had to reach out to legends a lot to help him get booked. Red Alert spoke about this too. A lot of the "older" Hip Hop DJ's have been pushed out of radio in favor of non-deejays who have shows where they just talk sh*t. Scoop was one of them. So what KRS is saying, is what's been said for a minute now. The stations will use Scoop's drops for their shows, but they won't let him keep his job or give him one.

It's been happening a lot.

Thing is, a lot of the legends have been speaking about this for a minute. Lord Finesse was just saying that it's hard to get booked in the states for good pay, so that's why he was deejaying overseas recently, in like Sweden. Promoters don’t really want to pay the vets. Premier was just over there too and saying they show more love than the promoters here do. So what KRS is saying has been true forever.

A lot of our legends either can't book that many gigs, or they have to leave the country to get a decent amount of them. Large Professor said if he wants to get real money for a gig, he has to go to Japan. We don’t take care of our own. And you see people in here acting like these dudes are "complaining" too much, but if that's what you do for a living, and you're a legend, you want to get paid for the time you've put in. We gotta stop treating our vets like they're "irrelevant" or don’t have value today. Sh*t is wild.

the more i think about it the more whiny it seems.
cuz it's not like limp bizkit or some shyt is out here touring their ass off either.
there's people out here who don't even get down on their knees in the morning and rap with god or thank him for meals, what exactly do some of these non superstar rappers want?
you are a niche rapper, that's a lane you chose to ride in. what exactly do you want 30 years later? you gotta stick with that core audience.
