It's worth reading and buying, it's a GREAT book, whether you agree with the brother or not, and there's a lot I don't agree with, but he is a knowledgeable intelligent human being and artist.

In regards to KRS-One vs Kool Moe Dee? My honest opinion would be KRS-One takes it, however that doesn't devalue Kool Moe Dee's greatness, only issue that keeps Moe Dee from being even higher to me is he stopped at a certain point, KRS-One continued so has a huge amount more material, but as an artist at their best their levels are both elite in my opinion. I believe Moe Dee is coming back though, if so I hope so and look forward to it. I wish more of the pioneers and legends would keep dropping music, like Moe Dee said show us an alternative from a lot of the bullshyt. What KRS-One has does has been INCREDIBLE, to me personally he's in the to 2 of all time and has still got room to become number 1 on my list.

Yeah would like to see a Rakim one, KRS-One too, Melle Mel really should be done too. A lot of artists, I get the point it's meant to be unsung so under the radar artists and those artists get a lot of acclaim, but to some of the new cats they are unsung. Particularly someone like Melle Mel or Grandmaster Caz, even someone like Tragedy Khadafi.

KRS had more lyrical styles, and was clearly the superior battle MC. I mean there's really no comparison.

Furthermore, the nerve of Mohandes to suggest in his book that he's an overall better emcee than LL. Ridiculous. NOTHING he made during their "back and forth" (since he doesn't want to call it a battle...I wouldn't want to, either, if I got smoked that bad) was as iconic as "Jack The Ripper" nor has there been many tracks since like "To Da Break Of Dawn", where pure SONNAGE shut a rapper down. After that song, it didn't matter what Moe Dee said, people were still too busy laughing at all the disses LL dropped on him.

I'm a Moe Dee fan and all, I actually bought "Knowledge Is King", lol....but dude is arguably the worst egomaniac in the history of the culture, and that's saying ALOT.

nah. they dont show under-the-radar artists. its all certified legends give or take 1 or 2 questionable picks. the term "unsung" is based on the fact that most black legends do not get their just due unless youre one of the usual suspects. the show is basically for those that arent the usual suspects.

same with rap, except theyre more selective with the rap picks. this is more of an r&b/soul/funk show. so the idea of tragedy khadafi having an episode is out the window. hell, cold crush having an episode might even be a longshot.

but yea, the furious five is definitely in line for an episode at some point. and i remember eric b & rakim being a voting option a couple years ago. basically, if you had a big rap career with HITS, youre a candidate. the only rappers with HITS from way back when that could be considered too big for this show are run dmc, ll cool j, salt n pepa, beastie boys & NWA.
