Kofi's win means more, but I think Bryan's was bigger.
And the company only reason is that the company truly committed to it. They did a great job of retooling existing storylines to make one longer story of Bryan being held back that dated back to the previous summer. They even had one of those rare occasions where they were okay with making fun of themselves with the B+ player stuff, where they were clearly making fun of the fact that Vince has a type.
With Kofi's, they tried to have it both ways with his storyline, and ultimately it kind of suffered for it. Can anyone actually explain WHY Vince McMahon didn't went Kofi to get his match? It was never explicitly stated on the actual programming, from what I understand. So, for us, we know the real reason was that Vince doesn't fukk with the idea of a black champion. But for non black people, or those not aware of racial issues, it's just a vague "Vince doesn't like this guy" storyline. As a result, it's still a beautiful moment, it's still important, and it definitely means more than any other face win at WM, but Vince definitely skated on this one.
To an extent, I can understand the hesitation, though. For someone like Vince, who basically has their public persona almost entirely thought of as their character, I can imagine they don't want to put anything out there to suggest they're racist, whether it's truthful or not
