The trenches and the hood are two different things.

For example; the whole city of Detroit is damn near the hood but some parts like P Rock & Wyo, Brightmoor, Mack/Bewick, 7 Mile and I-75 are the trenches. And Jada said where he’s from is not the hood now but when he was growing up there it was the hood.

Nah there's a fairly recent Jada interview where he says "all black people don't come from the hood ,I grew up in a house with a yard,dog and both parents" . He says he hustled in college when his parents cut him off so he could have "fly shyt". Him and The Clipse have the same story ,they didn't grow up poor. The Clipse have always admitted this but Jada didn't really talk about it much until his older years.

People think every neighborhood that isn't 99 percent white is the trenches . They're are plenty of middle class black /Latino neighborhoods in America . Jadakiss has openly admitted he's not from the hood. A lot hoods that are supposedly being gentrified now, used to be safe middle class minority areas before crack and gangs came. Pines hills in Orlando is supposed to be the trenches but people got 1800 Sq fr houses with 2 car garages . It's def not Baltimore,Philly,MS or Alabama levels of poverty in Florida .

Pine Hills is definitely the trenches now. It was once a nice middle class area for military families though. The homes in a area don’t necessarily determine if an area is the hood or the trenches..
