Religious interpretation, biblical or otherwise, is contingent on the point being discussed, when its time to take things at face value then the religious will use that as their talking point, and when the literal becomes morally obsolete, than it's abstract or not to be taken literally...... The same can be said for any counter argument....Who then gets to decide which interpretation is correct ?

I'm not religious, or care to rule the world or have a stake in anyone else beliefs, but take the curse of Ham for example this had wildly different interpretations among scholars the connotations of slavery he was talking to more so pertain to that....
