Kobe was gifted enough and arguably as much as anyone thats ever played the game, but alot of guys have had the natural talent and refused to put in the work, where as Kobe outworked and outlasted everyone else in his generation and thats what set him apart. In Lebron's case he was viewed as a freak of nature from the time he was in high school and was set apart already because of that, but this came back to bite him in the a** and set crazy expectations that demanded he work harder than everyone else while also being more naturally gifted than just about anyone that has ever played the game, and with one championship he's only just begun to live up to expectations, it's crazy.

And ultimately I believe that both Lebron and Kobe are a perfect mixture of "God given" ability and hard work. I just wanted to make the point that it seems the media emphasizes Kobe's work ethic as opposed to Lebron's natural abilities because these are what sets each guy apart, or at least what is commonly accepted as setting them apart from their competition.

that is the essential bullshyt of the whole storyline

Bullshyt.

LeBron was throwing around medicine balls and using intense resistance bands before games in high school.

Meanwhile Kobe came in in '97 living up to his father's name, looking like a stringbean.

Well its not necessarily bulls***, I see it like Kobe might be 60/40 hardwork/natural talent and Lebron might be the opposite 60/40 natural talent/hardwork..obviously those numbers are based on nothing just what I perceive to be true about these guys' games. The media runs with what sells like someone said earlier and Lebron is marketed as a freak/man-child where as Kobe is the wise stealth cunning "black mamba". It's nothing to get worked up over, there are much bigger issues at hand.

Yea and this made Lebron stronger but if he wasn't naturally built that way his coaches and trainers would have went a different route, a la Kevin Durant.

You should be a lawyer, you talk in circles, make completely invalid points, and it seems you argue just for the sake of arguing. It was fun though.

So Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter prove that Kobe has a beast work-ethic ...and Kevin Durant proves that LeBron's body is naturally built-up.

Commonsense is :old:

Kevin Durant relies on natural gifts too, HIS natural gifts which are different than Lebron's natural gifts, if you can't understand that I can't help you. Lebrons natural gifts make it so he can defend 1-5 at any given time (except for maybe dwight and bynum), while Durant's make it possible for him to pull up over anyone in the league and his work-ethic ensures that he makes those shots more times than not. And yes in their respective primes it was debateable as to who was the best player out of Kobe, TMac, and Carter, but work-ethic and durability have set Kobe apart.

Heaven on Earth
They treat LeBron like a black athlete from the hood and a single mother household that was born with super mutant negroe strength....

They treat Kobe like a man born into an affluent, stable home and schooled in European bording schools...

Guys like Kobe usually don't work as hard because they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth..So even if he works as hard as Bron it's always gonna come off as more impressive, because he doesn't really "have to" according to their perspective...

They both work hard obviously...But Kobe is more of a self promoter when it comes to placing the spotlight on his work ethic...How else can you explain this type of nonsense?

Kobe Shooting Alone After Heat Loss - YouTube

:beli:

Kobe's self promoting himself shooting around after a game during a horrible shooting slump? You're reaching hard. FYI there are PLENTY of vidoes of Lebron working out by himself and with Durant during the off season, is that considered self promotion too? Kobe doesn't have to spotlight his work ethic, his peers, the coaches, GMs and media all do a fine job promoting it for him.

Kobe and Lebron BOTH have exception natural ability and they BOTH work hard on their crafts. They aren't the only ones but they are the best players and have bigger names so thats who the media runs with.
