I hated Kobe in the early 2000s because I was a Kings fan. Once Shaq left and he was on his own, I became a fan. He was just that good. Skill and work ethic are second to none. He added something new to his game every year.

His sneaker line evolved and improved every season :wow:

GOAT in my opinion, as he does everything better (as far as pure basketball skill) than MJ did. And he went up against the Murderer's Row of wing players through 2 eras (Reggie, AI, Vince, TMac, Ray Allen, Lebron, Wade, Paul Pierce, Durant, Melo, etc) and came out on top. Undeniable greatness, salute to the Mamba:salute:

I'm not sad like i was a couple years back after it was discussed after he tore his achilles. Probably a combination of Daniel Bryan's sudden retirement and the trashheap our franchise.

Atmosphere tonight is going to be INSANE.

"Praise be to the name of Gawd for ever and ever; wisdom and jumpers are his. He changes times and seasons; they set up kings and he deposes them. He gives food to the fans and famine to the foe. He reveals deep and hidden skills; he knows what lies in heat, and cold game dwells with him." - Bean 41:3

Let us open our Laker Bible to the Book of Kobe, Chapter 14, Verse 98, a letter to the NBA.
And the Gawd said, "Let us march to the Finals, for we are not afraid of leprechauns, zone, Piru Pierce, and a psycho bum with a bum knee. And let the rest of the league know, I am above Kings, Flashes and what have you. Those who have doubted will not be saved."

knew everything would be alright if i hold on
Now i see defenders getting finger rolled on
And theres no way i could pay you back
But my plan is to show you im your number 1 stan
You are appreciated

Dear mamba

so in his childhood memories
Kobe bean bryant's got that mvp
And even though you ball hoggggggggin
*beat drops*
Them bad shots fall pretty often
There are no words that can express what i think
When you play i dont talk, move or even blink
And i appreciate so im supportiiiiing
And one day you'll have more rings than jordan
I wish i could do your fadeaway
It once was dark now we made it to a brighter day

You are appreciated
Pour out some gatorade and reminisce
Cuz through the drama i can always depend on my mamba
And when the game seems hopeless
You hit a fadeaway that gives the team focus
When he was sick as a little kid
Make a wish, its no limit to the things you did

81 no assists, they try to down you
And i could see you going home after a late game
mad about lebrons propoganda campain
You just workin with the scraps nikes giving
Remember when you locked ray allen up on thanksgiving?
at first the road got tough facing zones
Carrying kwame brown and smush on your own
And theres no way i could pay you back
But my plan is to show you im your number 1 stan

you moved on and started really chuckin
Shaq left and the lakers was severely suckin
But you aint guilty cuz even when you brick shots
There is always the chance that you could get hot
I love watchin games when you dont pass
Tell my boys no homo kobe showing ass
Cuz when you got charged, they would clown you

Now aint nobody tell us it was fair
No love for michael jordan cuz the coward wasnt there
You gave him 55 and i didnt cry
Cuz my pride wouldnt let me sympathize with cheese eyes
They say im wrong and its hate yall
But when i needed him he was playing baseball
I hung around with the thugs, but i aint help em sell drugs
*beat drops*
Because they showed jordan love

a pimp in colorado, thats right
Tried to put it in a hotel workers backside
And even with the rape caaaaase, mamba
You still scored at an insane paaaaace mamba
I finally understand
you was carrying the team but they made shaq the man
You always was committed
practiced 6 hours every day dog, tell me how you did it
theres no way i could pay u back
But my plan is to tell you im your number 1 stan
You are appreciated

And the league got other players
That maaaaake drama
but things go wrong they blame mamba
I reminisce on the stress you felt
It was hell
Sitting in a colorado jail cell
And whod think when you was gettin rings
heeeeeeey
youd see the penitentiary
One daaaaaaay

DEAR MAMBA
When I was young me and jordan had beef
I was 3 years old watchin his ass get sweeped
Back at the time I wondered who could take his place
you had enough heart to hit chris childs in the face
Suspended for games
Scared to go home
U was a fool with the big boys breakin all the rules
I shed tears with my baby sister
I know its lame but it hurt to watch you miss a game

I just wish the shooting gawd could have gotten traded to detroit like the basektball gawds wanted :wow: it was both an honor and a privilege watching him dominate and play basketball. One of the most beautiful and graceful games of all time :wow:

About to lace up my Kobe's and throw on my Laker hat....wow!!....can't believe it's coming to an end tonight....this man came into the league when i was a senior in HS....I was pissed when the Lakers traded Divac for him but little did I know that he was the one.....when he played his first couple of games I had my doubts....but then he just exploded....I'll miss his no fukks given attitude and his aggressive style of play....it may be a long time before we see a player with that kind of attitude and the style of play to back it up....

This is crazy to me. One day, you young people will only start to feel :flabbynsick: based on the players you watch retire in sports. Check this out.

Me and my cousin used to play Kobe Bryant NBA Courtside on N64 every day in the summer for money, in best of 7 series.

We were both in the 10th grade, about 15 years old or so, with no cares in the world.

My cousin is twice married with 2 kids, I'm a business owner, we are 34 years old with houses and families.

We lost that house, graduated HS, went to college, played ball, lost parents, grandparents, divorced, kids, seen friends go to jail, had friend play in the NFL and NBA for 10+ years, retire, and start 2nd careers, been through 3 presidents, had heartbreak like no other, and met the loves of our lives. Seen rap go from being shot in DC over a Biggie vs Pac convo to DC becoming hipster town USA.

We both didnt own cell phones for at least 4 more years.

You were a nerd if you used the internet. It was still 6 years away from being cool. No social media, that wasn't even a term.

Apple products were considered wack ass computers.

Aaliyah was still alive.

And Kobe is just retiring from the NBA TONIGHT. What in the f--k.
