Not necessarily, the city is a factor but there are things that are more important now. It's not like it used to be, nba is global, market don't matter

Market definitely still matters. Look at all the hype Porzingis gets in comparison to Karl Towns just due to the fact he plays for the Knicks. For the top superstars it doesn't matter as much but if you're a second tier star being in the right city can get you treated like a superstar (i.e. all star voting).
