If you're talking about Pau, absolutely. He'll be able to get in better position if the perimeter players made it harder for opposing guards to penetrate and break down the defense.

I love how everybody outside of Lakers fans defend Pau. Let me tell you why Pau is a problem, have you seen him show on PNR defense?
He is absolutely HORRIBLE!

How does that affect perimeter D?
When Pau shows on the PNR and sticks his hip out, it allows the opposing guard to EASILY get around him and put our guard in a trail position.

Shall we talk about Pau's interior defense?
It's the fukking worst! He let Eddy Curry look like a star. He is constantly outmuscled, I never see him get a loose ball in traffic and he absolutely dreads contact.
