KD has shown that he really doesn't care about the criticism the media(got at Skip) has of him or his teammates. And you know damn well Westbrook was a Lakers fan growing up in LA and watched Kobe coming up. All Kobe was trying to say is that KD and Westbrook have short term memories when it comes to making mistakes; they don't dwell on that shyt unlike LeBron has throughout his career.

You know what's funny about people slandering Kobe for taking credit for giving Westbrook and Durant that attitude? Durant agrees with Kobe himself.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Kobe Bryant isn’t being a vain superstar when he takes credit for instilling a fight-through-it mentality in Kevin Durant.

He’s telling the truth, Durant said.

“I watch guys and I just look at their facial expressions and their body language and I observe them,” Durant, the star Oklahoma City forward, said after the Thunder’s shoot-around Friday. “You look at Kobe, they could go on a five-game losing streak and he could shoot 30% and he has a poker face. He doesn’t let it affect him. You can tell he’s going to come out that next game and play his hardest and go out and produce.

"I’ve been watching him since I was 8 years old. To see that year in and year out and see the success he’s had, you just try to emulate him a little bit. He has that attitude like he doesn’t care, just go out there and play his game, and that’s what I try to do."

Don't doubt it.

And Russy...you can't tell me he wasn't watching Kobe looking at the way he plays. 15-20 or 2-20, dude is going to shoot. :russ:

Like I said, Ali created his own.
Yeah, you're dumb.:yeshrug:

:snoop: one more time. Ali was quoting his position in boxing history and people ran with it. Kobe hit up the encyclopedia britanica deluxe edition to find one for himself and told people to call him that. :heh:

Ali aint sit in a dark library doing research. Another thing don't compare Ali to snitching ass Kobe. If Ali did tell the media to call him that I would would give him a pass anyway cause I know it was for the show and that he also put in work outside of boxing.

What is Kobe known for outside of balling breh that would warrant a pass?

:ooh: The funny thing is that these hebs will still try to argue. If anything, KD cosigning Kobe's statement makes them angrier. :heh:

Kobe's a wild boy. He's got so little going on in his life outside of basketball that even when he's being introspective it comes off as crass. Who says shyt like this? This is the type of shyt you appreciate others saying about you, but you don't say yourself.

Like if I look at my sons and notice them developing some of my traits, I crack a smile to myself and get a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I don't think this nikka has the ability to feel like that so instead he manipulates how people feel about themselves.

This nikka was peeping the lil homeys' style and almost had a moment, instead he fukked it up. It's manipulative because there's a lot of truth in what he said, and they have no choice but to agree. But at the same time these young dudes got so much more going for them in life that they couldn't possibly devote as much time or energy to ball as Kobe has. He knows they'll never be him.

Kobe's hall of fame speech will be an epic display of arrogance. Jordan shot a couple friendly jabs at old foes and people were hot. Kobe will call out everyone who ever doubted him, from del Harris to the Colorado prosecutor that wanted his head. He'll spend half his speech doing that and the other half reminding people how great he is.

At the top.
Durant doesn't really show this "fight" much but that boy Russy? That nikka will go full tilt the whole game even if he's shooting 2/20, he gives no fukks. Like others said tho, Kobe coming out saying he "instilled" this in these guys takes away from it a bit -- would have been better if Durant just said it freely.

"The Greatest" is more of a title...not a nickname.

He didn't really have a "nickname" . (I read that he was called The Louisville Lip, but I rarely hear that today).

Also, even if he did give himself that nickname...that's boxing, where dudes commonly give themselves nicknames. It's just apart of boxings culture. Marvelous Marvin Hagler actually changed his name to that because announcers weren't calling him "Marvelous".

Beans is walking around Staples Center talkin' bout "Yo, you heard my new nickname? It's Black Mamba...pass it around"....:lolbron:

lebron had to revisit his past in order to make himself better. the criticism from the finals tragedy made bron step up, and he got a ring
