Kobe is showing how worthless stats are in determining how good a player is. You look at Kobe's career stats and 5 apg average and you would never dream he could facilitate like this. But if you actually watched him play, and understood how deflating the triangle offense is for assist numbers, you would know how stellar of a playmaker he has always been.

It's not about stats. Those are clouded by system, and role, and surrounding players. It's about ability, which you discern by watching games.
