Yeah, Kobe turned out to be the best player in that draft, but we going act like 2 future Hall of Famers and 1 MVP wasn't drafted before him. Allen Iverson was still a smart pick by the Sixers. Iverson didn't have Shaq to play with like Kobe.

Jerry West said Kobe probably should have been the #1 pick but at the time HS players weren't taken seriously, especially an SG.
Had he been drafted a few years later(still out of HS), he would have been a lottery pick.
In a interview he said he had no problem playing for Charlotte...they were too busy trying to Vlade Divac.
I always wondered how many championship would Kobe win if he was stuck in Charlotte from 1996-2004?
