When you average 23 shots a game for your career....you can do things like that.:manny: Jordan averaged 22.9 shots a game for his career:childplease:

Put in perspective, Kobe has only averaged 23 shots or more a game 4 times in his career.....and he averaged 30.0 ppg (2003), 35.4 ppg (2006), 31.6 ppg (2007) and 27.9 ppg (2012).

I'm pretty sure if he shot that many times a game FOR HIS CAREER, he would've reached this milestone sooner:yeshrug:

that's because he was playing sidekick to the most dominant center in league history for 8 years...
when you're the clear leader and best player on the team, you tend to get as many shots as you want. that's why kobe drove shaq out of l.a, because he was jealous of playing second fiddle

and don't forget that he had to play for 7 years with the #6 all-time leading scorer

imagine if he would've gotten his own team from the beginning......he'd be at 35k points by now :obama:

and minus 3 titles lol.

but yea whoever mentioned durant... that mf'er is gona crush all these records. i think him and lebron will be 1-2 if they stay healthy

:whoa:

Kobe and Shaq played together for 8 years.

Shaq led the team in shot attempts per game from 1997-2000.....we went to the NBA Finals 1 time and won 1 Title in those 4 years.

Kobe led the team in shot attempts per game from 2001-2004.....we went to the NBA Finals 3 times and won 2 Titles in those 4 years.

Obviously, the Lakers won MORE with Kobe taking more shot attempts per game than we did with Shaquille O'Neal taking the most shots per game. Since when does the 2nd fiddle average more shots per game than "the clear leader and best player on the team"?

:shaq:

Unless, Shaq was the 2nd fiddle and KOBE was really the 1st option on offense......at least that's what the numbers you were going by say:troll:

:lawd:

I grew up watching this man play. It will be such a sad time when he hangs em up :to:

I wonder how many years he plays....he's been saying he's bowing out at the end of this contract, but I don't believe him...not if he keeps playing at this high of a level...i was saying earlier it's kinda crazy when you think about how he's been good for so long...he's putting up 28pt 5ast and 5rb in his 17th season in the league, he's like the Kareem of perimeter players and shyt...when he crosses milestones like this..I look at him and duncan who's having a great year deep, deep into his career too and I just gain a larger respect for them as I think about their place in the history of the game
KG as well (though not quite on their levels this season). That longevity is amazing.

It really is amazing that he didn't retire years ago to pursue MJ's dream of playing professional baseball. If he hadn't demonstrated such resolve, we would never be celebrating today.

He may never reach Kareem in total points scored, but he will soon hold the NBA record for most field goals missed in a career.

Truly a once in a generation bumblefukk of a player.
