I wonder if Kobe even remembers how he scored his first point, or even what team he scored it against that night, much less how it actually scored that point.
When you average 23 shots a game for your career....you can do things like that. Jordan averaged 22.9 shots a game for his career
Put in perspective, Kobe has only averaged 23 shots or more a game 4 times in his career.....and he averaged 30.0 ppg (2003), 35.4 ppg (2006), 31.6 ppg (2007) and 27.9 ppg (2012).
I'm pretty sure if he shot that many times a game FOR HIS CAREER, he would've reached this milestone sooner
and don't forget that he had to play for 7 years with the #6 all-time leading scorer
imagine if he would've gotten his own team from the beginning......he'd be at 35k points by now
that's because he was playing sidekick to the most dominant center in league history for 8 years...
when you're the clear leader and best player on the team, you tend to get as many shots as you want. that's why kobe drove shaq out of l.a, because he was jealous of playing second fiddle
KG as well (though not quite on their levels this season). That longevity is amazing.I wonder how many years he plays....he's been saying he's bowing out at the end of this contract, but I don't believe him...not if he keeps playing at this high of a level...i was saying earlier it's kinda crazy when you think about how he's been good for so long...he's putting up 28pt 5ast and 5rb in his 17th season in the league, he's like the Kareem of perimeter players and shyt...when he crosses milestones like this..I look at him and duncan who's having a great year deep, deep into his career too and I just gain a larger respect for them as I think about their place in the history of the game
This man has been playing for 17 years
