you know what brehs i'm going to start watching womens ball :hubie:

kobe died for this ish
Vanessa even mentioned gigi was upset about the disparity in pay

all my jokes about the wnba and womens ball that's the end of it
Yeah, WNBA players joked that Kobe was going to be the next commissioner

There was a few other female high school players he was mentoring too. I think it was poignant that they had Taurasi and Ionescu speak because the women’s game lost a huge advocate

It's never truly over breh. You'll always have memories and things like that to remind you of the times. Continue to honor Kobe's legacy in your own life. He may be gone in the physical but he'll always be here in our hearts and thru his daughters and Vanessa.

All facts. Thanks for the positive words.....gotta have that Mamba Mentality everyday

Jordan has always been my favorite player and I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about his history as a player.

With that being said, I took note of Jordan stating that “whether as a basketball player or a father, Kobe left nothing in the tank.”

Jordan goes on to say that Kobe inspired him, subtlety implying that Kobe inspired him to be a better dad.

We all know that during Jordan’s playing career, when he wasn’t on the court, he was almost always on the golf course or the casinos. Which probably meant that although he was a great provider, he wasn’t that good of a father —presence-wise.

I thought it was striking that Jordan mentioned his two twins and his grandchild. I have a feeling Jordan is going to be much more involved his second go-around as a parent — thanks to Kobe.

Believe it or not, that happens with very successful people, they have kids who they neglect during the height of their ultra success. Then they have kids later on and try to make amends for it.

I saw a Sylvester Stallone interview where he stated that during his first marriage, out of the first 20 years of his two sons lives, he spent a total of 5 years max with them. He went on to say that he would never make that mistake with his daughters from his current marriage - because time is something you can’t get back.

In his speech, Jordan alluded to helping Kobe to become a better basketball player, but Kobe helped Jordan to become a better person, a better father.

I watched the tribute twice and played back Vanessa’s speech three times already and just waterworks. I don’t know where she found the strength today, but Kobe and GiGi deserved that amazing tribute, so I’m glad she organized it.
