Goat letting us into the nature of his relationship with kobe >>>
How it went from adversarial to a big brother/little brother relationship with mutual respect and admiration
Aside from iverson kobe prob the biggest jordan stan ever, the fact he got to not only play against his idol but have him as a mentor and friend and gain his respect :wow:

league has never and will never see dudes like Jordan and Kobe again. shyts wild how close their mentalities and competitiveness were, and that’s why they had that Type of bond.
Wish I could’ve listened to them talking shyt to each other esp those convos they had about 91 jordan vs 03 kobe :wow:

Lol nah I think you guys slight the strength of Kobe and Bron relationship

Keep in mind Shaq spoke at the memorial and he said on TNT he hadn’t spoke to Kobe since he scored 60

it’s unimportant to me that Bron didn’t speak but I wouldn’t make it seem like Kobe and Bron weren’t brothers

Nah I ain't saying that they weren't brothers; in fact I remember reading somewhere that it was only once Bron got to LA that their relationship really deepened. Just that Bron was probably well aware of others who could fill that role better than he could.

Frankly I was surprised that Shaq spoke just off the strength of what you mentioned about the statements he made on TNT. He didn't speak for long at the memorial service, either; I almost wonder if this was something granted by Vanessa for him to have some sort of closure.

Well if so then it was for good reason. Vanessa and those closest to him know Kobe better than we do. It they were blocked then that's probably what Kobe would've wanted. For the longest time Kobe's parents disowned Kobe and his new family. Think about that. They pretty much said fukk your wife and fukk your daughters. Some things just can't be mended. We have absolutely no right to speak on this matter. Kobe's FAMILY didn't want them speaking and that's that. Some things are just unforgivable, period.
I was being sarcastic, it is stupid to assume anything that we don't know.

Just because they didn't speak in the public memorial does not mean they did not speak in the private one they had. Even Magic did not speak, there were tons of people who did not speak that I thought should have but this was a public memorial.

Also those saying why didn't the speakers mention Kobe's parents..it's hard to when Kobe has had an on/off relationship with them for a long time. I doubt they knew much about Kobe's family outside of his wife and kids and that is why they chose to spoke about that..him being a father and husband.

People are just looking to nitpick for no reason. The fact that they were there sitting front row is enough and shows that they are there for support.

There’ll never be enough words to describe what Kobe meant to me. That’s the hardest part like damn where is the closure if you feel like you’ll never get out every feeling you have about this legend.

this Kobe shyt growing up was a way of life. A culture a religion. When the memorial ended I broke down cuz it was like damn it’s finally over.

kobe was literally the closest to MJ out of anyone to ever play this game.

no one else

And MJ knew this is which is why they were so close. It feels like Kobe is the only dude MJ even respected or viewed as an equal.

mike today was very powerful. Helping Vanessa down the steps and letting his guard down and showing us his human side during his speech. This is so beyond basketball it’s not even funny. Kobe left an impression on EVERYBODY. He was so fukking serious about his goals even MJ learned to understand after initially looking at him as an annoyance

It's never truly over breh. You'll always have memories and things like that to remind you of the times. Continue to honor Kobe's legacy in your own life. He may be gone in the physical but he'll always be here in our hearts and thru his daughters and Vanessa.

Every single day I think of Kobe Bryant. I took today of work just for this. I always hated that fat fakkit charles barkley quote “I'm not a role model. Just because I dunk a basketball doesn't mean I should raise your kids"

From the moment I fell in love with basketball kobe bryant was in it
