I've seen the Knuckleheadz and All The Smoke interviews get a lot of love but this one was an underrated interview too:
This dude man.
You know....my wife and I had a serious crying session over the weekend. I've told her over the years about that Kobe shyt. This weekend I made her listen to 17 year old Kobe and brought up how she told me she was the only 9th grader at her prestigous prep school's college fair. The ONLY 9th grader and how all the Juniors and Seniors were asking her what the hell was wrong with her and she said it was all about planning for what's ahead while working hard. Few people posses that and she, Kobe, MJ, JB, Rice and others were tomorrow fanatics that made them successful. Man...we both started tearing up, mostly me because Kobe was really revealed to her in a different light than she was accustomed to, so I felt emotional about seeing her realize that.
Again...that is the hardest working athlete I have ever seen in my 40 plus years of being on this earth. I have never seen a guy work as hard as him...and the few folks in this world I've met that have had that ethic usually feel very alone, but are all successful.
