Hard to put into words...but the amount of sacrifice you have to make to be an elite player at Kobe's level in terms of family. He was just about to enter that period in his life where he got to spend more time and invest more time in his children. And to begin to share that with your daughter? And for them to want to follow in your footsteps? I can't imagine the joy and fulfillment that would bring you as a father. It's no wonder to me that people are saying he seemed to be happy and fulfilled outside of the game - because he wasn't really outside the game. He was just stepping into a different role in it through family.

RIP Kobe. RIP Gigi.
