I miss my Black Widow :mjcry:

That's a slingshot. A sling is a different type of weapon, it's basically two long ropes connected up with a pouch where you load the ammunition. You swing it around over your shoulder a few times to build up momentum, and then pull the catch cord that releases the ammunition

The power comes from the swings you do in the build up to firing, plus when you fire you throw your whole upper body into it, as though you were throwing a javelin or a baseball. It's a lot more potent than a slingshot because of the power that comes from all your upper body muscles and the ropes.

Its main use in ancient warfare was that it was effectively armour piercing. Armour was designed to protect you from stab wounds and pierce wounds, from swords, spear points and arrow heads. Sling bullets however were big rocks or cast lead, it did blunt force trauma which armour was not designed to protect against.

My best friend used to live in Denmark Hill. It was very easy and quick to get to several different areas from Denmark Hill i.e. Brixton, Peckham, Camberwell (Wooly Road), East Dulwich, Tulse Hill. Basically goon territory.

He had a neighbour who was a super goon. When we would see him he was so friendly and loved talking about football but this guy loved confrontation.

But to keep a step ahead of the fukkery he added something to his armory that I'll never forget. I kid you not, this boy had a metal crossbow. He took us to to some abandoned place to shoot it. It was like a laser and he was ITCHING for someone to test him, oh my Lord

:picard:

I don't know if he did use it but I'm telling you he realllly wanted to. I can't imagine being shot by a crossbow in the 21st century and holding that L in heaven (or hell). What a way to go.

Moral of the story is don't fukk with South Ldn

Sorry breh, your post had me reminiscing it reminded me of an experience I had with my pops, made me feel old as shyt :old:

My pops is ill with the sling even now and he's up there in age, he knocked a redtail out of a tree last year shyt was comical no more fly-by's for that fukker:mjlol:

I only discovered them when I brought home a slingshot one day (BW) and he pulled out a homemade sling and turned into a kid on some:
What you know about that my yute?:mjlit:

Being a kid I kinda laughed him off :unimpressed:

Until he demonstrated how effective they were he set up a junk pile he had this look on his face the whole time

The junk pile was 100 meters away, pops made me feel like shyt :why:
