Knicks should have kept David Lee.

Where would Melo have gone? nikkas is talking like if Amare went to Toronto nikka would follow him. nikkas go to NY for the endorsement opportunities. NY is the biggest market in the country, they can land free agents easily. This is like a nikka saying CP3 wouldn't go to LAC without Blake being there. As many bad bishes it is in LA nikkas was gonna go there regardless but Donald Sterling was just cheap before the new cba. Yall talk like nikkas was gonna sign to Minny or Portland if Amare wasn't there. It's only 3 or 4 attractive markets in the country and it's no coincedence that Lebron,Melo,CP3,Bosh,D-Will all seem to force their way into those markets. Stop talking like Melo was gonna stay in Denver or go to a small market team when his wife wants to talk to stars and walk the red carpet for a living.

Dude Had Chicago And The Nets As Choices, NY Is Attractive But Having You're Friend On The Team Doesn Hurt Either

Keep It Real, If The Knicks Kept David Lee There's Was VERY Good Chance The Knicks Who Were Winning 20 Games A Season Didnt Have A IN To Get Melo There

I honestly believe that Knicks fans have talked themselves into believing that Melo wouldn't sign there if Amare wasn't there because it's a way to cope with Amare's contract. He wasn't going to the Bulls because they never showed any signs they wanted him and I doubt they would move Deng for another scorer that plays no defense when they already have a scorer that doesn't play defense in Boozer. Melo didn't wanna play for a hard ass like Thibbs. Plus he wanted to go back home to the east coast. Now you can say he would've went to Brooklyn but what pieces did they have that Denver would want? They had no draft picks to offer and the only asset was Brook and they were gonna save him to pull Dwight.

How Is It To "Cope" With Amar'e Contract? At The End Of The Day It's Not Our Money, So Who Cares?

I Guess We're Just Gonna Disregard The Toast That Amar'e Made At Melo's Wedding About Playing Together Too Huh?

Since You're The One That Says The Bay Is A Big Market AND You Have David Lee I Wanna See WTF Free Agents Your Team Attracts In The Near Future

You have no idea what you're talking about

Did you forget what they gave up to get Deron?

:melo:

This thread, and your posts inside this thread reek of bias, and subjectivity. Melo's move wasn't about big market vs. small market, or about where he could get the most endorsements. Melo was going to go to a team where he felt he had the best chance to WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. That's what it's all about at this stage of his career. As much as I loved David Lee when he was a Knick, he's not a guy that you can say to yourself, "hey if I team up with Lee, we really have a chance to compete for a ring".

We can all sit here and speculate where we think Melo would have gone if not to the Knicks. At the end of the day, we don't know. All we do know, is that the Knicks, with all the moves they've made, including Amar'e and his contract, have gathered enough talent to compete for a chip. Everything else at this point is irrelevant.

The Bay is a big market but it's not a place for rich black men. Anybody from the bay would tell you that. It's a place for rich white men. Yall cope with the contract because deep down you know you could get a better player with that 100 million. CP3 was at Melo's wedding too right? That nikka never considered NY nor did Lebron so that wedding shyt means nothing.

Clearly this is false.
