Anxious to see our receiving core this year I know Michael Thomas will be our number 1 guy but I wonder if they can turn him into a deep threat like smith
Man if Corey Smith can hold on to the ball he could be that deep threat. He dropped a long one against Bama he should have caught. Missed multiple passes against V Tech. He has the speed, just got work on catching the damn ball :snoop:

Look out for some freshmen that redshirted. Terry McLaurin was a fast ass beast in high school. Same with Parris Campbell. The only thing is that Devin Smith wasn't just fast, but was great with tracking the ball in the air and being able to make the catch. We definitely have the athletes to replace him, but they'll have to step up. I think Michael Thomas will fit in with the role he had last year as the short/intermediate route WR. He's very good in that range.

Isn't Campbell a running back?

Also don't forget about Johnnie Dixon at WR.........

They've been saying that Campbell was gonna be converted to WR, or at most the next H-Back like Dontre and Jalin. But remember Jalin split out to WR and ran deep routes a lot.

I wouldn't mind making Marshall a full time WR and shifting Curtis Samuel to the H-back. Then Weber could back up Elliot.

Thing is i think Jalin is a more effective H/Back than Dontre. Its so much freaking talent on Offense its crazy the combination of where players can play.

I'm not sure that Weber would be ahead of Brionte just yet. Every time Brionte has had extended playing time he has produced. And Urb has praised his special teams effort, which is crucial for Urb moving you up the depth chart.

But yeah if Jalin wants to showcase himself on the next level, he'll have to display some WR skills a little more for scouts.
