It's fukking scary how close we are to last year's pace. The only thing is that we lost a game last year, yet of course still undefeated this year. Offense is finally getting into that rhythm we didn't have against Northern Illinois. Defense needs to fix that middle, but we won't really be facing another scrambling QB this year (unless maybe the playoffs I guess). You can't pass on us, and they didn't line up and run on us up the middle. Very fixable problems on those runs from the QB. It's a schematic thing, not a personnel thing. Fully confident MSU and scUM will get that work. I personally hope scUM loses every game, but seeing them get their hopes up like this, it will feel great to beat them even more this year at the little house.

I-O
Yeah you can see the offense getting better each week just like last year. Let all these other teams reach they peak now and come nov they'll flame out.

Urban just said he thinks JT as red zone QB is permanent. My head hurts
6 for 6 last week in red zone TDs. And this is a way for JT to get in the game without doing a real QB switch. Don't mind it as long as it doesn't take away rhythm. When he kept Dale in for that TD to Brax, that was because of the momentum of the offense and it would have been disruptive to switch QBs at that point. I think that's how it will go if Urb sticks with this approach. If we get a two yard run to the 18 for a first down, that's a good point to make the move. If we get a 25 yard pass to the 15 and have the defense on their heels, I don't see a need for the move.

A lot of luck was involved during that. Mainly the first two drives. Urban also said he's not writing it in sharpie that they'll stay this way. As I said before; it can work occasionally. I wouldn't want to step into MSU or scUM game with that thought process. That's just me

I feel you, but he has experience with it at Florida with the Leak Tebow situation he had. It worked ok against Maryland but then again its Maryland. We'll see how it goes against better competetion. like @MustafaSTL said as long as it doesn't mess the rhythm up we should be good

I'm not saying don't do it at all. But when you're running 2nd & 1 QB sneak on the goal line with JT & big ass Cardale on the sidelines, there's a problem. As I said, situational football. I can't endorse saying this should be an every drive thing while calling different plays for JT when he's in the game and not giving the same oppurtunity to Cardale because you've made it up in your mind he can't run when game tape tells a different tale. I am not opposed to the thought, but I just can't see it helping us in the long run unless it is situational

With all of the talk about us not playing up to expectations, and some shytty writer saying we're barely a top 10 team, look at the stats and we're alright. Number 19 in defense (dropped from 14th last week) and number 26 in offense. Offense has shown it will continue to get better now, and defense just had a couple of QB runs that can be shored up. Just watch at the end of the season we'll be right around the top 10 in both offense and defense just how people expected. And we'll be clicking on both sides right in time for MSU and scUM (when it will matter most).
