'Kingsman: The Golden Circle': New Set Pic Confirms a Fan Favorite's Return

The mystery of Harry Hart and Kingsman: The Golden Circle has finally been solved! Well, the mystery of whether or not he’ll actually be in the film has been solved, at least. As for how? Well, that bit is still up in the air.

(Spoilers for Kingsman: The Secret Service ahead) Considering how we last saw Harry (which is to say, very shot in the face by the villainous Valentine), it seemed likely that standout Colin Firth would return for the sequel. Yet rumors persisted that he would, either via a twin, flashback, or “faked his own death” scenario, until a report surfaced those plans had been scrapped, which was then seemingly rebuked by a teaser poster featuring Harry’s signature glasses over the text “Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” As you can see, it’s been kind of an emotional roller coaster for those of us who just want another dose of Colin Firth, Action Hero.

But wonder no more! Thanks to a behind the scenes picture from new addition Pedro Pascal featuring Firth in full Harry Hart attire with the text “Hide behind Harry”, we’ve finally got legit confirmation that Harry Hart is back in action to some extent.

First of all, I almost just passed out from how handsome that picture is, but now that I’m recovered, I’m just thrilled to get confirmation of Firth’s return. While The Secret Service launched Taron Egerton and Sofia Boutella‘s careers and delivered a gleefully campy performance from Samuel L. Jackson, it was Firth’s turn as the gentleman superspy that really stole the show. As Hart, Firth had the opportunity to somehow play both toward and against type, and he knocked it out of the park as the diligently well-mannered but ruthlessly lethal agent. And Kingsman has just the right level of ridiculousness and surrealism to pull off a character revival. Now, hopefully we’ll get to see him in action alongside his former protegee, Taron Egerton’s Eggsy.

Matthew Vaughn returns to direct the sequel, co-writing the screenplay with Jane Goldman. The story for the follow-up finds Eggsy now a fully-fledged member of Kingsman and jetting off to America to rub elbows with Kingsman’s American counterparts, The Statesmen, run by Halle Berry’s character. But things take a turn and Eggsy and his colleagues are tasked with going up against Julianne Moore villain Poppy. In addition to Moore and Berry, The Golden Circle has wracked up an impressive cast including Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Vinnie Jones, and Elton John.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to debut in theaters on June 16, 2017.

finally saw the first one, it was entertaining....didnt like how the dude was too good/perfect....by that i mean he was kinda like vin diesel in XXX, the 'perfect' hero and no one can touch him/put him in danger.....he didnt even get a scratch from all that shyt including the fact he went against all those people, all those bullets, and even gazelle, and it never felt like he was in danger...like i said, he was too perfect.....despite that, like i said, the movie was entertaining....i'll go check out the 2nd one if they make it entertaining like the first....
