Yall really would go after Monroe like that? I was thinking about who he would fit best with earlier today cause I certainly believe they gonna let him walk. Josh Smith needs to return to the 4 and they gonna want to replace him with a 3.
I know defense ain't his forte, and that's what we would primarily want and need in a 5 next to Dirk.
But at this point, fukk it. He's still very young, has a good attitude, big frame and doesn't seem like the lazy type to pack on pounds, is a legit passer (top 3 in Cs in assists last 2 seasons), and could give us 15-8 every night at the very least.
Plus, with him being young and with Rick GAWDlisle as our coach, we could probably teach him to be somewhat adequate at defense. Right?
At this point though, I just want a young player with a nice ceiling to look forward to. Dirk is winding down and we're going to need a big man at some point. I would be ecstatic if we got Monroe for 4/$49. We've done MUCH worse in FA during Cuban's tenure
