Surely Pac just got 'disciplined' (in his own words) for not accepting/talking reckless to Rosemond's pay later approach to the Lil Shawn appearance (his artist)? I don't see it as any more complicated than that?
Stretch/YG's wasn't built like that, they fell back when they saw it unfolding, they probably knew it was coming because Pac had violated by talking reckless on the phone to someone you don't do that to, not because they were implicit/involved.
When they saw it unfold they just tapped out because they weren't strapped and didn't want to go to war with Jimmy. Majesty said as much in that Art of Dialogue interview, they weren't on that level, they weren't organised and powerful like that. E-Money was grimey and willing no doubt, but he wasn't caking, and neither were they.
I don't see this robbery as anything less or more than the above.
